Lower School (Kindergarten – 3rd Grade)

For our Lower School program, encompassing Kindergarten through 3rd Grade, we offer a dynamic curriculum that emphasizes bilingual education and a well-rounded academic experience. With an emphasis on academic rigor and integrity, we help each child reach their highest potential.

Language (Spanish or French) + English

In language classes, students develop proficiency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in both their chosen language (Spanish or French) and English. This comprehensive approach ensures that students are well-prepared for academic success in both languages. This fosters cognitive flexibility and multicultural competence.

Math (Spanish or French) + English

Mathematics is taught bilingually, with concepts introduced and reinforced in both Spanish or French and English. This approach not only strengthens students’ mathematical skills but also enhances their language acquisition and problem-solving abilities. We teach students to learn in the actual language, not just learning the language.

STEM (Spanish or French) + English

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education is integrated into the curriculum in both languages, providing students with hands-on experiences and real-world applications of STEM concepts. This interdisciplinary approach fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills. We encourage “learning by doing” to help students master challenging lessons.

Art (Spanish or French)

Art classes are conducted in either Spanish or French, allowing students to explore different artistic techniques, styles, and cultural influences while developing their creativity and self-expression. Our artists have literal room to grow as we are offer our massive outdoor space as their studio.

Social Studies (Spanish or French) + English

Social studies instruction is also bilingual, exposing students to diverse global perspectives and helping them develop a deeper understanding of the world around them. Again, we teach students in the language and it’s a seamless way for their young minds to be able to process and bridge between multiple languages while learning new topics and concepts.

Music (English)

Music education is fundamental. Music education is primarily in English, providing students with opportunities to explore different musical genres, develop their musical abilities, and cultivate an appreciation for music. Music education enhances cognitive abilities, including memory and problem-solving skills, and fosters creativity and self-expression.

Physical Education (PE) (Spanish or French) + English

Physical Education (PE) is taught in both Spanish or French and English, emphasizing the importance of physical fitness, motor skills development, and teamwork. At Kintess, we provide a large outdoor space for our students to enhance their health. Exercising outdoors offers a multitude of benefits for both physical and mental well-being. The fresh air and natural surroundings can invigorate the body and mind, providing a refreshing change from indoor environments. Outdoor exercise also exposes individuals to natural light, which can help regulate sleep patterns and improve mood.

Outdoor activities can involve varying terrain and elements, which can challenge the body in different ways and improve balance, coordination, and agility. Exercising outdoors also allows our students to connect with nature, which has been shown to reduce stress and anxiety levels.

Our Lower School curriculum offers a comprehensive and immersive bilingual education that prepares students for academic success, cultural competence, and global citizenship. We constantly challenge our students to uncover and nurture their individual talents.
